MORAVIA – Greene didn’t lose its poise after getting shell-shocked in the first quarter of Saturday’s Moravia Tournament consolation game against Edison.
The Trojans overcame seven first-quarter threes by Edison and a 13-point deficit rallying for the club’s first win of the season.
“They had us off balance in the first quarter,” said Greene first-year coach Chris Rice.  “We just played great defense the next three quarters. That’s what got us back in the game.”
Greene also used supreme scoring balance to bounce back from Friday’s lopsided loss to host Moravia. Luke Day had a team-high 19 points for the Trojans (1-1) topping four players in double figures scoring
Luke Erickson had 13 points, while Joe Miranda and Jordan Harrington netted 11 points apiece in the win. Miranda was also big on the defensive end leading the team in  rebounding to earn all-tournament honors.
“The biggest thing is that we didn’t turn it over like we did the night before,” Rice said. “So that helped us. It was a fun game and exciting to the wire.”
Greene plays at Susquehanna Valley on Wednesday and Chenango Forks on Friday.
